Where Sunderland sit in the 2025/26 Premier League net spend table

Sunderland ranked sixth for net spend in 2025/26, underscoring a campaign in which both promoted clubs stayed up.
Per Stake, Arsenal topped the table on £250.1m, with Liverpool second on £235m. Manchester United posted £166.9m, Tottenham £150.4m, and Manchester City £135.2m.
Among the promoted pair, Sunderland led with £119.9m, ahead of Leeds United on £91.5m. Leeds spent £100.1m and recouped £8.6m, and both clubs survived, with Sunderland thriving.
Newcastle United endured a rough season despite heavy business, ending with a £95.6m net spend after £252m out and £157m in.
Arsenal won the Premier League for the first time since the 2003/04 Invincibles, holding off a late Manchester City push. Their outlay across the last two windows was the largest, spending £263m and recouping £12.9m.
Elsewhere, Everton registered £116m, Nottingham Forest £95.9m, West Ham £64.3m, Burnley £57.8m, Fulham £43.93m, Aston Villa £28.7m and Chelsea £10m.
Five clubs recorded negative net spend, Crystal Palace on -£8m, Wolves -£14.7m, Brentford -£50.2m, Brighton -£66.35m and Bournemouth -£90.7m, the biggest surplus.
