Santos completed day six of their mid-season programme at CT Rei Pelé on Saturday.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Cuca’s staff are following a plan for the World Cup pause that prioritises fitness work before competitions resume.

The squad went through conditioning on the pitch and also drills with the ball. A tactical segment rounded off the session, although physical preparation remains the main focus.

Midfielders Willian Arão and Gabriel Bontempo returned to the grass but trained apart from the group. The pair continue strength work before a full return to Cuca’s main sessions.

The team will close out the first week of the camp on Sunday, again at CT Rei Pelé. With the Portugal tour off, the club is working to confirm at least one friendly in Brazil before official fixtures resume.

Santos have a little over two weeks before their next game, away to Botafogo on 16 July at 19:00 Brasília time at Estádio Nilton Santos, in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. They then begin their Copa Sul-Americana play-offs against Universidad Central of Venezuela on 21 July.
