Newcastle United will entertain Bournemouth at St. James’ Park this Saturday as they hope to earn a positive result in the FA Cup. The Magpies managed to secure a hard-fought 4-3 win over Leeds United recently, which should give them a ton of confidence going into this game.

Eddie Howe will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a handful of changes to his first team for this clash. Yoane Wissa could get the nod to lead the line for the Tyneside club up top.

Defence

Nick Pope will function in goal for the Tyneside club after conceding three goals in his last appearance. Tino Livramento will operate alongside Sven Botman at the heart of the Newcastle defence as they look to keep the opposition attackers quiet during the 90 minutes.

Kieran Trippier will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Lewis Hall retains his place on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Alex Murphy will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench. However, Fabian Schar will be sidelined due to an ankle injury.

Midfield

Howe will opt for a midfield three of Jacob Ramsey, Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to engineer some inviting chances for their teammates up top.

Joelinton will be rested on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if needed.

Attack

Harvey Barnes scored a dramatic injury-time winner against Leeds and should get the nod to start as the left-sided wide player. Jacob Murphy will try to impress as the right-winger, while Yoane Wissa leads the line for the Magpies down the middle.

Anthony Gordon and Nick Woltemade will get a rest on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the final quarter if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then.
