Wolfsburg sign Ghana defender Jonas Adjetey from Basel on deal to 2030 | OneFootball

Wolfsburg have signed Ghana centre-back Jonas Adjetey to strengthen their backline.

The club said in a statement that the 22-year-old has joined from FC Basel on a contract running to 2030, with the move confirmed on Monday evening.

It follows the Deadline Day loan arrival of Jeanuel Belocian from Bayer Leverkusen.

Sporting director Pirmin Schwegler said Adjetey is physically strong, quick and dominant in duels, and pointed to his three and a half years at Basel in league and European competition. He added that the club have high expectations and believe he can strengthen the team straight away.

Adjetey said moving to the Bundesliga means a great deal, adding that he is eager to start immediately and will give everything each day to help deliver the results Wolfsburg need.
