Wolves cleared part of the South Bank after a supporter was struck by falling metal during a 1-1 draw with Sunderland.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the fan was hit by a fixing that fell from a PA speaker attached to the roof during the first half, and was treated by medical staff inside the ground. They sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

At half-time the club moved supporters from the affected area, near the front of the stand close to the Graham Hughes Stand, to elsewhere in the ground as a precaution.

An area of 200 empty seats was visible during the second half.

The hosts, already condemned to relegation from the Premier League, were booed off after being held to a draw despite playing against 10 men for most of the match.

Nordi Mukiele put the visitors ahead early on. Sunderland defender Dan Ballard was sent off in the 24th minute for pulling the hair of Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare. Santiago Bueno equalised after the break.
