Head coach Rob Edwards has been integral to talks as the club pushed for his signature amid rival interest from England and abroad, including Premier League sides.

Trippier is due to undergo a medical once he returns from his post-season break, and many supporters view the deal as a coup.

Wolves plan an aggressive rebuild, with departures expected and a focus on experience and leadership, qualities Trippier offers, having captained several sides.

The club have also shown interest in re-signing striker Raul Jimenez as they seek to rebalance the squad for a Championship promotion push.

The agreement follows Andre committing to a new deal until 2030, with the Brazilian midfielder pledging to stay in the Championship.

Right-back Jackson Tchatchoua is expected to depart after struggling since his £10 million move last year. Joao Gomes is in talks to join Atletico Madrid, with more exits likely after a dreadful top flight campaign.

Trippier progressed from Manchester City to Burnley then Spurs, earning 54 England caps from 2017 to 2024, his only international goal a 2018 World Cup semi-final free-kick against Croatia in a 2-1 defeat.

His honours include La Liga with Atletico Madrid in 2020/21 and the 2024/25 Carabao Cup with Newcastle, and he was a Champions League runner-up with Spurs.
