Wolves set to face Real Sociedad at Bescot in July pre-season friendly | OneFootball

Wolves will host Real Sociedad at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium on Tuesday, 28 July, with kick-off at 7.45pm, the club’s third confirmed pre-season fixture.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, it will be the first meeting between the clubs, and the La Liga side finished 10th last season, five points short of the final European spot. Wolves have faced other Spanish opponents in recent years, including Celta Vigo, Girona, Rayo Vallecano, Levante and Deportivo Alaves.

Sociedad will return to Bescot days beforehand to face Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. Villa will also meet Walsall at the same venue on Tuesday, 21 July, with a 7.30pm start.

Rob Edwards’ team open their programme at Maidenhead United on Tuesday, 21 July, a friendly arranged as part of Max Kilman’s £40 million move to West Ham United in 2024.

Wolves will round off pre-season in the Netherlands against Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen at the Abe Lenstra Stadion on Saturday, 1 August.

The squad will also travel to Portugal for a warm-weather training camp, with no public fixtures scheduled. One further friendly will be added to the 2026/27 schedule, and ticket details will follow.
