Wolves to host Real Sociedad at Bescot in July pre-season friendly | OneFootball

Rob Edwards' side will host Real Sociedad in a pre-season friendly at Walsall's Bescot Stadium on Tuesday, 28 July, with kick-off at 7.45pm, the club announced.

Their meeting with the La Liga club comes a week after Wolves open pre-season at Maidenhead United on Tuesday, 21 July. That fixture has been in the pipeline for two years, agreed as part of Max Kilman’s £40million move to West Ham United in 2024.

At Bescot that week, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa face Walsall on Tuesday, 21 July at 7.30pm. Days before taking on Wolves, Real Sociedad will also play Villa at the same venue.

Wolves’ summer schedule is set to conclude in the Netherlands against SC Heerenveen at the Abe Lenstra Stadion on Saturday, 1 August. The squad will also travel to Portugal for a warm-weather training camp, with no public fixtures scheduled.

Wolves have never faced Real Sociedad, though recent opponents from Spain include Celta Vigo, Girona, Rayo Vallecano, Levante and Deportivo Alaves. Real Sociedad finished 10th in La Liga last season, five points short of the final European place. It is the third pre-season fixture confirmed as they prepare for the Championship campaign, with another to be added, and ticket details will follow.
