Marshall Munetsi looks set to leave Wolves this summer, with interest circling and a claim that the club may have sought to shape the market.

Jeunes Footeux suggests Paris FC believe Wolves leaked news of talks with Nottingham Forest to prompt a response, while Paris’s bid to sign him permanently is said to be at an early stage.

The midfielder left Molineux in the mid-season window to join Paris FC on loan after failing to convince Rob Edwards. He had been criticised by supporters for a lack of influence.

For Paris FC he has 14 appearances, four goals and two assists. He spoke positively about life there last month and is thought to favour making the move permanent.

Forest’s emergence complicates matters and, if an agreement with Wolves is indeed close, Paris may feel pressure to act quickly. Their owners are among the richest in world football, so increasing an offer would likely not be an issue.

Wolves paid around £16 million to sign Munetsi from Reims, and they will hope to recover as much of that outlay as possible.
