The draw for the intercontinental playoffs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, has just taken place. Six teams will participate, but only two will secure their tickets to the World Cup.
In the first bracket, New Caledonia will take on Jamaica in the semi-final. The winner of that match will then meet the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final, with a World Cup spot on the line.
In the second bracket, Suriname will face Bolivia in the semi-final. The victor will then go up against Iraq, who is awaiting its opponent to play for a place at the World Cup.
The intercontinental playoff matches will be held in Mexico during the international break scheduled from March 23 to 31, 2026.
