Wrexham are among the clubs considering a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, who is valued at around £eight million to £10 million ahead of a possible summer exit.
According to Sky Sports News, Wrexham are weighing up an approach, with Millwall and Wolves also interested, and they hope Sunderland's price can be negotiated. Patterson has two years left on his deal and is currently third choice at the Stadium of Light.
After helping the Black Cats win promotion from the Championship last season, Patterson lost his place as Regis Le Bris' first choice to Robin Roefs following the latter's arrival from NEC Nijmegen.
Short of minutes, the 26-year-old joined Millwall on loan in January, linking up with former Sunderland boss Alex Neil. He quickly became first choice and helped Millwall reach the Championship play-off semi-finals, where they lost to Hull City.
Sunderland's valuation could be difficult for most second-tier clubs. Patterson, an academy graduate, wants regular football, while Melker Ellborg is understood to be content as the club's number two.
