Yegoian winner lifts Excelsior to 11th | OneFootball

Excelsior beat PEC Zwolle 2-1 in Rotterdam to climb from 14th to 11th in the Eredivisie.

Noah Naujoks opened the scoring in the 20th minute, glancing in Derensili Sanches Fernandes' cross. An injury to Tristan Gooijer forced Zwolle to turn to Jan Faberski (35.).

After the restart, Ryan Thomas levelled from close range (48.), converting Sherel Floranus' low ball.

Stijn van Gassel kept the scores level soon after, tipping away a Floranus header (50.).

Jerolldino Bergraaf then hobbled off and Szymon Wlodarczyk entered (64.). Van Gassel denied Nick Fichtinger with a low stop (75.) before Irakli Yegoian drove in the winner from the right side of the box (78.).

Excelsior registered 13 attempts, four on target. Zwolle produced nine efforts, three on target.
