Youngster on first Corinthians goal: family, faith and team-mates

On Saturday night, the 4th, Corinthians returned to the field for the Brazilian Championship. In a match at Neo Química Arena for the 27th round of the national competition, Alvinegro hosted Mirassol, and with a secure performance in defense and efficient in attack, they won 3 x 0 in front of 38 thousand fans in Itaquera. The goals were scored by Maycon, Yuri Alberto, and André.

After the final whistle, André gave an interview in the mixed zone. The young man, who was one of the protagonists of the game by scoring his first professional goal in Itaquera, spoke with journalists and described his feeling: "For me it is very gratifying, I am very happy with today's goal. And today I also debuted here at the Arena, and to debut with a goal, victory, for me it is very happy indeed. And not yet, I haven't even told my mother, I won't tell her yet."

The player, moved, dedicated the goal scored to his mother and grandmother, and talked about the support he seeks in faith. "Without God, nothing will happen, nothing will happen in my life. I always sought to walk with the Bible, and I always sought to read the Bible, and this walk with God, well, it's a wonderful path", he said.

When asked about the move that resulted in his goal, André detailed the play and praised the partnership with Yuri Alberto: "I saw Yuri there, dragging me, I told him, I'm going to arrive, I'm going to arrive, I'm going to arrive, and then he saw me, tried to make the pass, kind of, made a little mistake, it fell to him again, he managed to find me, then there in front, thank God I managed to score."

The young man also highlighted the role of the more experienced teammates and the coaching staff in his development: "Day by day, they help me to evolve more and more, right? And, in training, in the game, they always guide me, showing me the right paths, where I should go, where I should close, go, marking, and with the ball there, they tell me to do in the game, to let go, to do what I do in training, and that's it. Always giving me support there on the field."

At another moment, André specifically valued the partnership with Maycon. "(He) Played in Europe, has a lot of knowledge, a lot of experience, as they say, and me playing next to him there, he always talking to me, passes on his experience, which he has with me not only in the game, in day-to-day, in training, well, for me it is very gratifying", he explained.

The midfielder also celebrated the presence of Fiel in Itaquera: "Ah, to see the fans there shouting, they don't stop for a minute, for me it is very happy, very happy to see everyone jumping, celebrating, and I was there on that side one day, and today, now me on the field. For me it is very good, a unique moment for me."

Finally, André summarized his profile as an athlete: "I am a player of great intensity, I hit in both areas, usually, (a lot of) grit and desire. Whenever I am on the field, this will not be lacking, you can be sure. And whenever a ball appears there in the area, I will always look to score, and celebrate with the fans, with Fiel."
