Zidane family in New York before Luca’s Algeria World Cup debut | OneFootball

Zinédine Zidane, widely seen as the probable future France manager, is on a US road trip with his sons during the World Cup. According to L'Équipe, he will be in Kansas City to watch Luca’s Algeria game rather than France’s opener.

France begin their 2026 campaign against Senegal at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Tuesday at 21:00 French time. A few hours after the final whistle, Algeria face Argentina at Arrowhead Stadium, where Luca will play.

With 1,800 kilometres and about five hours between the venues, Zidane had to choose. He will be in the stands for that fixture, the first World Cup match of his son’s career.

Before the fixtures, the family spent time in New York. Zizou and Luca’s brothers, Enzo, Théo and Elyaz, were pictured cycling and on Brooklyn Bridge in smiling posts on their father’s Instagram.

Zidane is making the most of this World Cup, probably his last before a return to the dugout.
