There’s only 100 days to go until the start of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

City will be one of 32 teams from across the planet going for glory in the first edition of the new, expanded format.

We’ve been drawn in a group with Moroccan side Wydad AC, Abu Dhabi-based Al Ain and Italian giants Juventus.

In a format similar to that of recent international World Cups, the top two sides will then progress to face the best teams from other groups.

Should we go through, one of Real Madrid, Al Hilal, RB Salzburg or Pachuca would await us in the Round of 16.

With 12 European sides, six from South America, five from North America, four from each of Africa and Asia and one from Oceania, it’s set to be a truly global affair.

We reached the competition with our 2023 Champions League triumph, which also earned us the right to play in the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup which we won in Saudi Arabia.

That tournament has now been renamed the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

As one of just two English sides alongside 2021 Champions League winners Chelsea, there will be a lot of eyes on Pep Guardiola’s side in the USA.

As well as the familiar faces of the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter, there’s also the exciting prospect of coming up against some giants of the game from further afield.

Four Brazilian sides will feature, while the Argentinian behemoths River Plate and Boca Juniors are also involved.

Africa’s representatives include iconic Egyptian club Al Ahly, who have won three of the last four CAF Champions League titles.

From Asia, there’s Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal as well as Urawa Red Diamonds, who we beat in Jeddah in December 2023 on our way to becoming Champions of the World.

100 days from now will see the competition get going when Al Ahly and Inter Miami, with their legion of greats including Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez, face off in Miami Gardens.

Our tournament starts at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Wednesday 18 June, when we play Wydad.

The Casablanca-based club will be in the US off the back of their 2021/22 CAF Champions League success.

Then we move to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to come up against UAE’s Al Ain at 02:00 (UK) on Monday 23 June, who are in the competition after winning the 2023/24 AFC Champions League.

Our group stage ends with Juventus at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Thursday 26 June. The Bianconeri were the eighth-best ranked eligible team in UEFA's four-year ranking system.

While there’s still plenty to play for domestically between now and then, we’re all set for an exciting summer on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

As always, we’ll have full coverage across mancity.com and our official app of everything you need to know from out in the USA.
