As first reported by the Telegraaf, and now Sky Germany, 1.FC Köln are set to complete the signing of Rav van den Berg.

The 21-year-old will move to the Bundesliga for a fee worth €10m, with a fixed sum of €8m and €2m in add-ons. He will sign a contract in the Domstadt until 2029 and is already on his way to Germany for his medical.

Strasbourg, Crystal Palace, Feyenoord and Inter Milan had also shown an interest in van den Berg, but he instead opted to join Köln.

Rav’s brother Sepp has also played in the Bundesliga. The Brentford defender had spells at both Schalke and a successful spell at Mainz. The 05ers wanted to sign Sepp permanently from his then-current club Liverpool, but he instead moved to West London.

This will be Köln’s ninth move of the window as they look to prepare their squad to avoid relegation back to the 2.Bundesliga. New head coach Lukas Kwasniok has been significantly backed with notable signings such as Isak Johannesson, as well as Ragnar Ache.
