2nd Barcelona star sparks injury fears on international duty | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have been left to sweat over the wellbeing of another member of the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes owing to developments in the international clash between the Netherlands and Poland.

Hansi Flick and co. have endured a testing last couple of weeks on the personnel front.

First, Gavi suffered a knee issue in training, before word was forthcoming that Alejandro Balde, too, is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Lamine Yamal was then spotted clutching his back in the aftermath of Spain’s victory over Bulgaria on Thursday.

And as alluded to above, late this week, another source of concern has been forthcoming.

After Frenkie de Jong was hauled off en route to the Netherlands’ 1-1 draw with Poland in World Cup qualifying last night, Oranje boss Ronald Koeman, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, admitted:

“Frenkie warned us that he felt tightness in his glutes, so we didn’t take any risks.”

It now remains to be seen if De Jong was suffering simply from fatigue, or an actual injury problem.
