Palmeiras continued their preparations on the morning of this Monday (08) for the match against Internacional, next Saturday (13), at 6:30 PM, at Allianz Parque, for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship. In the first leg, in Porto Alegre, Verdão defeated the Colorados 1-0, with a goal by Facundo Torres.

How was the training?

The activities began with muscle activation at the center of excellence and a power workout on the field. Then, the squad performed a positional training, focusing on building plays through the middle and in depth, concluded with finishes. The second part of the work included technical exercises on a reduced field, with two teams of eight players each.

In the physical transition phase, midfielder Raphael Veiga progressed in his recovery and participated in the movement as a “joker,” able to play for both teams. Meanwhile, Mauricio, on an individual schedule due to lower back pain, remained under the care of the Health and Performance Center.

After the training, Veiga celebrated his return without limitations:

I am happy to be back training on the field. I was sidelined for a while due to pubic pain, which is very bad because we live with pain, we are used to it, but at times these pains limit us a bit and we get stressed. So it was important to return pain-free, to gain strength. Mentally, no player likes to live with pain, play with pain, with medication. It was also important for me, I am very motivated in this final stretch and 100% to help the team

The midfielder also appreciated the FIFA Date period, which kept some teammates away due to call-ups, but emphasized the importance of the team's representation:

I am happy that more and more players are going to their national teams. This shows how important our team is on the world stage. Congratulations to Flaco, who fulfilled a dream, Gómez was also fighting for a long time to live this moment. We wish them luck there and, for us who are here, we must do our best, improve in what we need.
