Hamza Abdelkarim has emerged as a key target for FC Barcelona heading into the January transfer window.
The Blaugrana intend to sign the 17-year-old striker from Egyptian club Al Ahly, with the idea being to reinforce the Barça Atletic attacking unit with his acquisition.
A proposal for a loan deal with a buy option in the summer had been tabled by Barcelona, but has since been shot down by Al Ahly.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Hamza only dreams of Barcelona even though he is attracting widespread interest from European clubs.
Indeed, the 17-year-old striker has received calls from teams in France, Germany, and Italy, but his heart is set on a move to Barça.

The young forward, who impressed with the Egyptian U-17 team at the recent U-17 World Cup, is more than excited to secure a transfer to the Catalan club in the coming month.
Romano states that conversations have taken place between Barcelona, Hamza, and his agents, and the plan will be for him to initially be a part of the reserve team, Barça Atletic, and not the first team.
Talks have been very positive, and the teenage wonderkid is dreaming of the opportunity.
As for negotiations between the two clubs, Al Ahly are assessing all offers and seeking the best possible option for them, given the interest that the striker is generating.
Talks continue to take place between the Egyptian giants and the La Liga behemoths. And with the player’s heart set on a move to Barcelona, it might not be long before an agreement can be reached.
