Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries is reluctant to let complacency get the better of him after last night’s win at Ajax.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInter1908, the Dutchman hailed Inter’s effort to recover from a stuttering start in Serie A.
Despite demolishing Torino 5-0 on the opening matchday, the Nerazzurri already trail Napoli and Juventus by six points.
Indeed, back-to-back defeats to Udinese and the Bianconeri have already undermined Inter’s Scudetto hopes.
However, it’s still an early season, meaning Cristian Chivu has enough time to make up the lost ground.
Furthermore, things are going in the right direction.
Marcus Thuram racked up another double this season to inspire Inter to a 2-0 win at Ajax last night.
It was a perfect way to start a new Champions League season.
Moreover, it was an ideal response to last weekend’s loss in Turin.
On the other hand, Dumfries refuses to let one result carry him away.

“Important win, good result,” the Dutch wingback said. “I’m happy with how we played, we dominated the match.
“High level? Some details are still missing, we have a lot of experience and remain calm. But we need to work every day to improve.
“Psychological dip? I don’t think it’s psychological; we lost two games, that’s the reality.
“Tactically, we played well; they only managed one shot on goal.
“This is a new season, so I’m not looking back. We always look forward and are ready for the next match.”
Inter will have a perfect chance to return to the win column in Serie A this weekend.
Indeed, Chivu’s charges take on newly promoted Sassuolo at San Siro in a must-win fixture.
However, another failed attempt to grab three points would be a disaster as Inter bid to claw their way back to the top.
