As reported by AS, Lucas Boyé stepped off the bench to hit a 97th-minute equaliser. Alavés drew 3-3 with Real Sociedad, topping a night of mixed displays.
Goalkeeper Sivera had no chance with two goals, the second an own goal off the post. Ángel Pérez impressed on the right then faded before being replaced. Jonny Otto looked more comfortable at full-back, generally tidy despite occasional lapses in coordination at the back.
Tenaglia was exposed at times as the new shape remains a work in progress, often left as the last defender. Víctor Parada struggled despite his effort against superior Real Sociedad forwards. Abde Rebbach justified his start, diligent defensively and direct in attack, perhaps Alavés’s biggest threat.
Antonio Blanco led the midfield, reading play to steal possession and using the ball cleanly. Pablo Ibáñez was below his recent level, slow to release yet intense in the press. Jon Guridi kept the team more fluid, though he rarely worries the keeper with shots.
Ibrahim Diabate impressed with his back-to-goal play, scored with a slice of fortune and is a strong alternative to Toni Martínez and Lucas Boyé. Toni Martínez had few openings and squandered one clear chance, though he worked tirelessly. Guevara added late steel, helped defensively and used the ball well.
Carles Aleñá brought energy after the break and threatened from corners and free-kicks, though his influence has waned. Denis Suárez showed his quality, sliding a pass that Martínez failed to convert and supplying the assist for Boyé’s goal.
