Alexander Isak's injury has opened the door for Liverpool to bring in a super talent to the first-team.
Nobody wants to see a player get injured. It's a terrible situation for everyone involved. A footballer's career is already so short so a serious injury could have a huge impact.
We still do not know the extent of Isak's injury. However, judging by his facial expression and the agony he seemed to have, it looks like it could be one that will see him out of action for quite a long time.
It's going to be a terrible blow for both the player and the club. Just as it felt like Isak was finally turning a corner and getting better, he will now be sidelined again.
Liverpool's biggest investment of all time, is not off to a great start in a red shirt. But that doesn't mean he will not come good.
With time and patience, Isak absolutely has it in him to turn things around. The club didn't just sign him for these first few months but for many years to come.
Injuries are devastating but for young players in the academy injuries to senior players also present an opportunity.
Robbie Fowler for example would never have gotten his chance had Ian Rush not been injured in 1995 when he started to break out onto the scene.
A few years later Michael Owen capitalised on Fowler's injuries to do the same. Trent Alexander-Arnold also massively benefitted from Liverpool having a right-back crisis and Nathaniel Clyne being injured for a long period of time, which allowed the now Real Madrid man to make a mark on the first-team.
This time around Isak's injury could provide the platform for another exciting prospect in the academy, Josh Sonni-Lambie.
He has 18 goal contributions in 22 games so far this season at U18, U19 and U21 level and he's by far the most talented academy attacker who is fit and available right now.
The goal contributions alone are eye-catching from the 17-year-old but there's much more to him than just that.
Sonni-Lambie is the perfect modern day forward, very much in the mould of someone like Hugo Ekitike.
He doesn't just score goals, he creates chances, he links-up with his teammates, he takes players on and he's constantly moving. Whether it's to create space for himself or his teammates or moving to press his opponents, Sonni-Lambie's energy is what makes him such a complete player.
He's also full of flair. Sonni-Lambie often comes up with creative solutions, similar to Ekitike. He's not afraid to do a heel flick, or attempt something extraordinary.
These are the kinds of players fans love. The players who work hard and who entertain.
Now Isak's injury has opened a door for the young man to join the first-team and make his mark on Slot's side.
