It promises to be a summer of big changes at Anfield.

Liverpool have jettisoned Arne Slot - their Premier League title-winning head coach. Several dressing room leaders will also walk out the door.

Ibrahima Konate is the latest among them - with the club confirming the Frenchman will depart upon the expiry of his current deal.

Konate, 27, joins two more stalwarts on the exit ramp - with Mohamed Salah ripping up his £400k per week contract one year early and Richard Hughes neglecting to sign Andy Robertson to a new deal.

Even more departures have been mooted. Virgil van Dijk is wanted by Galatasaray and of course Juventus intend to sign Alisson Becker.

Juventus plan to sign Alisson

The Brazilian, 33, is reportedly keen on a reunion in Turin with his former Roma coach Luciano Spalletti. And Juve would be willing to offer the goalkeeper a three-year deal as opposed to the one year he currently has got left on his Anfield contract.

In recent days however it appears that Richard Hughes has put his foot down on Alisson’s proposed departure. Amid so much disruption it’s been decided that the £150k per week shotstopper is going nowhere.

According to a report in Tuttosport Alisson has been left stunned by the development as plans were put in place to facilitate his departure.

The same report is now claiming that Giorgi Mamardashvili’s entourage have been instructed to find him a club for next season as Liverpool prepare the way for a loan spell.

Mamardashvili told to find a new club

“The reason? The already anticipated departures of Robertson, Salah, and Konaté, and thus the fear of weakening (with the Brazilian's further departure) the leadership of the dressing room,” the report reads of Liverpool’s reason for retaining Alisson.

“Hence the firm "no" to Alisson's explicit requests, determined to leave the Reds for one last starring role at Juventus, led by his leader and friend, Luciano Spalletti.

“But above all, the mandate to Mamardashvili's agents—the man who, until a few weeks ago, was supposed to inherit Alisson's baton—to take action to find him a temporary home. In short, a club willing to take him on a one-year loan.

“The Brazilian goalkeeper was surprised by this about-face, having spent the last few weeks—between constant chats with Spalletti and those with his entourage, who had already finalized every contractual detail with the Juventus management—with his mind already focused on Turin.”

Mamardashvili decision key to Alisson's future

Mamardashvili was signed in 2024 for around £24m and sent on loan to his former club Valencia for the 2024/25 season. Last season the Georgian was given ample opportunity to impress given the extent of Alisson’s injury problems.

But Mamardashvili was unable to convincingly nail down a place in the team and prove himself worthy of a consistent starting spot.

“The Brazilian, as is well known, has said he's willing to stay only if he's guaranteed a starting spot until the end of next season.," the report reads.

Given that Mamardashvili will be leaving on loan - and the Reds have told Juventus to go away - that looks all but certain as things stand.
