Early in the season, Ruben Amorim placed his trust in Altay Bayındır to guard Manchester United’s goal.

Deadline day signing Senne Lammens had to wait until October for his debut against Sunderland. The Belgian kept United’s first clean sheet and has not looked back since. Over the weekend, David Moyes labelled Lammens as United’s best player against Everton.

Bayındır, meanwhile, has not featured for United since then, having been resigned to being the 23-year-old’s backup.

Manchester United agree to sell Altay Bayındır

Altay Bayındır, who joined Manchester United from Fenerbahçe in 2023, remains a highly admired goalkeeper in Turkey, and his situation at Old Trafford has sparked the interest of Super Lig clubs.

Besiktas tried their luck in the winter transfer window, but United blocked a “last-minute” deal. The Black Eagles, however, continue to chase the six-foot-six-inch-tall shot-stopper.

According to Fanatik (via Sport Witness), Beşiktaş are working on signing the United goalkeeper, who has less than 18 months left on his contract with an option for another year.

United are reportedly willing to cut ties with the Turkey international in the summer and are “now receptive to a €5m offer”.

It is claimed Besiktas had a meeting with the Red Devils this week and an “agreement has been reached”.

The Super Lig giants have also made advances on agreeing personal terms with the “top class” 27-year-old. It is believed the initial talks took place for a deal worth €3m per year, but this now has been lowered to an annual salary of €2m.

Andre Onana wants to return to Manchester United

While Bayındır is prepared to return to Turkey to rejuvenate his career, Andre Onana, who is currently on loan at Trabzonspor, is still harbouring hopes of making it at United.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Onana wants to challenge Lammens for a starting berth at United. The Cameroonian believes he will be given the opportunity to showcase his quality.

Given Onana is struggling to consistently deliver in Turkey, United are likely to prefer cutting ties with him permanently in the summer.
