Julián Alvarez scored two penalties as Atlético de Madrid came back from a goal down to defeat Real Valladolid 4-2.
Scorers: Alvarez 25', 71', Simeone 27'; Sylla 21', Sánchez 56'
Atlético de Madrid's Clément Lenglet conceded an early penalty after handling inside the area and Valladolid's Mamadou Sylla stepped up to convert the resulting spot-kick.
However, the Valladolid lead didn't last long as Julián Alvarez also struck from the penalty spot following Javi Sánchez's foul on Giuliano Simeone.
Simeone then completed the quick Atlético turnaround just two minutes later, finding space inside the six-yard box and firing into the roof of the net.
Atlético couldn't hold on to their lead and conceded early in the second period as Javier Sánchez's free-kick took a huge deflection off the wall and bounced past Jan Oblak.
With 20 minutes remaining, Atlético won another penalty when Henrique fouled Marcos Llorente and Alvarez held his nerve from the spot once again, slotting his effort into the bottom conrer.
Alexander Sørloth secured the win for Los Colchoneros late on after reacting first to André Ferreira's spilled save and tapping into the net.
Diego Simeone's outfit tightened their grip on third place with their first LaLiga win since early March, while a fifth consecutive defeat leaves Valladolid further adrift at the bottom of the table.
