Ancelotti ‘to call up’ three Flamengo players for 2026 World Cup

ESPN reports that Léo Pereira, Alex Sandro and Danilo are guaranteed places in Carlo Ancelotti’s 2026 Brazil World Cup squad, barring injury. The Italian coach has already settled on 24 of his 26 selections.

Flamengo are said to have three players on his list. Ancelotti is weighing whether to take two strikers, and if he opts for one, an extra midfielder would come in.

Only Léo Pereira and Danilo will report to Flamengo for the match against Red Bull Bragantino. Alex Sandro has a muscle injury and is not yet available to coach Leonardo Jardim.

The Flamengo versus Bragantino game is scheduled for 21:30 Brasília time on Thursday, in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

The match will be broadcast on Rede Globo free-to-air, with Premiere carrying it on pay-per-view.
