Pereira completed 90 minutes against Croatia, completing 83 of 87 passes, winning five duels and not being dribbled past.

Carlo Ancelotti expressed satisfaction that the newcomers took their chance, noting it increases uncertainty over the definitive squad, and highlighted Igor Thiago, Léo Pereira, Danilo, Endrick and Kaiki among those who impressed.

Brazil’s official World Cup call-up is set for 18 May, with preparations beginning on 25 May and departure for the United States on 1 June.

After national team duty, Pereira turns back to Flamengo and is due in São Paulo on Wednesday 1 ahead of facing Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday 2 at 21:30 Brasília time in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
