André Villas-Boas attends Laureus Awards 2026 in Madrid, hands Best Para Athlete prize

André Villas-Boas and his partner Joana Villas-Boas attended the Laureus Awards 2026 gala in Madrid.

According to O Jogo, the FC Porto president, a Laureus ambassador, presented the Best Para Athlete of the Year award to Gabriel Araújo.

The awards recognised Carlos Alcaraz as Men’s Athlete of the Year and Aryna Sabalenka as Women’s Athlete of the Year, with PSG named Team of the Year. Lando Norris took Breakthrough of the Year and Rory McIlroy won Comeback of the Year.

Chloe Kim was honoured as Action Sports Athlete of the Year, and Lamine Yamal received Young Athlete of the Year. Toni Kroos was recognised for Inspiration in Sport.

Nadia Comaneci collected the Lifetime Achievement award, while Fútbol Más won the Sport for Good prize.
