Angelo Stiller has no regrets over snubbing a summer move to Manchester United, but is keen to explore a transfer as he looks to follow in the footsteps of Florian Wirtz.
United reportedly failed with a late swoop for the Stuttgart midfielder, having focused their attentions on strengthening their numbers in the middle during the final days of the window.
Interest in Carlos Baleba did not get off the ground after Brighton refused to discuss a summer switch, while a late attempt to sign Conor Gallagher on loan from Atletico Madrid was also reportedly rebuffed.
There was also said to be interest in Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Morten Hjulmand of Sporting.
Stiller is happy to have stayed with Stuttgart this summer, but has admitted he harbours ambitions to move outside of Germany after seeing Wirtz leave to complete a £116million move to Premier League champions Liverpool.
"I'm currently not thinking about a move," he is quoted as saying by Germany outlet BILD.
“Generally speaking, I'm interested in moving abroad at some point; I thought that Florian Wirtz's decision to go to Liverpool was cool.
"But only one thing is certain for me: At the end of my career, I absolutely want to play in the USA, in the MLS. This is 100 per cent my plan, my goal."
