Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez are both hoping to use the Supercoppa Italiana final as a springboard to return to form.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter and Milan will both be hoping to rely on their big name players in this evening’s Supercoppa Italiana final.

And for both of the two teams, there is one player in particular who has yet to really live up to their reputation this eason.

Lautaro Martinez & Theo Hernandez Aim To Return To Form In Supercoppa Final

In the case of Inter, captain Lautaro Martinez has not had the best of seasons so far.

The 27-year-old has worked tirelessly as always. But a lack of fitness earlier on in the campaign and then some profligate finishing have prevented Martinez from scoring goals.

The Argentine did get on the scoresheet against Cagliari in Serie A.

However, Martinez was unable to follow that up in the Supercoppa semifinal against Atalanta.

Therefore, the Inter captain will be hoping that it’s a different story in the final against Milan.

Meanwhile, wingback Hernandez has undeniably been one of Milan’s key players over the last few seasons.

The Frenchman was particularly outstanding when the Rossoneri won the Serie A title in the 2022-23 season.

However, the 27-year-old has struggled to have that same kind of impact over the first half of this campaign.

Therefore, Hernandez will be targeting a rebirth under Sergio Conceicao. The Supercoppa final would be a perfect opportunity for Hernandez to prove he’s back.
