In a recent interview with Bild, journalist Christian Falk revealed that Arsenal are keeping a keen eye on Heidenheim keeper Diant Ramaj, who is currently playing on loan from Borussia Dortmund. Falk said,

“That’s true, yes, Ramaj is on the list at Arsenal. The Heidenheim keeper is actually just on loan from Dortmund, so they’d have to sit down with them.

“Arsenal has a good goalkeeper in goal, David Raya, who’s the clear number 1. So we’re talking more about a backup. There’s also Kepa Arrizabalaga, who’s already 31, and both have contracts until 2028, so for Ramaj it would be more prospective, but of course an interesting club.”

Ramaj’s Recent Form In German Football

Ramaj is having a decent loan spell at the German club as he has put in a few impressive displays for them in the Bundesliga. The 24-year-old has conceded 34 goals and earned one clean sheet in 16 matches for Heidenheim this season across various competitions.

The German sensation is under contract at his parent club Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2029. Hence, Arsenal would have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit Ramaj in 2026.

Will Ramaj Be A Good Choice For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Ramaj can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. He is a solid handler of the ball as well and can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves at the back for his team.

Standing at 1.89m, the German goalie is a strong presence in the air as well. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to snap him up next year.

Ramaj would no doubt add more quality and depth to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He has what it takes to serve as an ideal understudy to David Raya at the North London club.

At 24, Ramaj has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Gunners to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Arteta has to give him some time to settle into life in England before he can unlock the best out of him.
