Arsenal could conduct a medical at London Colney to complete the signing of Bruno Guimaraes next week, according to the Daily Mail’s Isaan Khan.
The Gunners have reached an agreement in principle to sign the midfielder in a £77 million deal.
The 28-year-old is set to become Arsenal’s third signing of the summer transfer window after deals for French goalkeeper Illan Meslier and Greek winger Christos Tzolis.
Guimaraes has everything it takes to improve the Arsenal midfield, and it is clear to see why manager Mikel Arteta wants him.
Guimaraes bagged nine league goals and six assists in 29 Premier League games last term, creating 45 chances.
He was involved in 11 league goals in 2024-25, 15 goals in 2023-24 and nine goals in 2022-23, and his effectiveness in the final third would be a huge boost for Arsenal.
The Gunners are looking to retain their league title next season and also win the Champions League after last season’s heartbreak against Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
Arsenal are also expected to bolster their defence after a long-term injury to William Saliba.
