Negotiations are expected to gather pace following William Saliba’s decision to sign a five-year contract. Arsenal want to avoid any uncertainty with Saka, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2027.
Saka’s next contract is expected to place him alongside Arsenal’s top earners, with Kai Havertz believed to be on around £280,000 a week. It is recognition of Saka’s importance, both in terms of numbers and his influence on and off the pitch.

Arteta’s words underline how Arsenal view Saka as the face of their project, a player capable of shaping the next decade at the Emirates.
For years, Arsenal fans have worried about losing their best talents to wealthier rivals across Europe, but times have changed. Now Arsenal are showing they have the financial strength and ambition to keep their cornerstone players at the Emirates.
Securing Saka on wages that reflect his standing is not only fair but essential. He has consistently delivered in the Premier League and Champions League, and at just 23, his peak years are still ahead. Supporters know he represents more than just goals and assists, he embodies the connection between the club and its fanbase, a local hero who came through the academy.
Seeing him tied down to a long-term contract reassures the faithful that Arsenal will not be bullied in the transfer market. Clubs like Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain would undoubtedly circle if Saka’s situation was uncertain, but locking him in now sends a strong message that Arsenal intend to compete at the very top.
Fans are pleased because this is about more than money, it is about ambition. It shows Arsenal are serious about building a team to challenge for titles, and Saka is at the heart of it.
