Arsenal travel to face Bournemouth on Saturday evening aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign.
The Gunners sit third in the table as we return from October’s international break, a point adrift of leaders Liverpool and behind second-placed Manchester City on goal difference.
Arsenal, coincidentally, have an identical record compared to this stage of last season in terms of points, goals scored and goals conceded.
Mikel Arteta’s mean are yet to be beaten across all competitions in 2024/25, having taken four points from their opening two Champions League games, in addition to progress in the Carabao Cup.
The trip to Bournemouth begins a challenging upcoming schedule, with fixtures against Liverpool, Newcastle, Inter Milan and Chelsea all on the horizon before November 10.
Mikel Arteta eased Arsenal concerns over Bukayo Saka during Friday’s press conference with confirmation that the winger’s injury was ‘not serious’.
Saka limped off during England’s defeat to Greece during the international break and withdrew from the squad before the second fixture of the break. The 23-year-old is expected to be available in a big boost to the Gunners, with Saka leading the Premier League for assists (7) in 2024/25.
Gabriel Martinelli is a doubt after picking up a calf problem while representing Brazil, while Martin Odegaard, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu are confirmed absentees. Neto will be unavailable to face his parent club, so 16-year-old Jack Porter could replace the on-loan goalkeeper on the bench.
Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko are all being assessed ahead of the game. Thomas Partey is available, Arteta has confirmed.
Arsenal predicted XI: David Raya; Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori; Thomas Partey, Declan Rice, Mikel Merino; Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard.
Bournemouth host Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday 19th October. Kick-off is 17:30 BST.
The game will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR. Coverage starts at 17:00pm BST.
