Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are both keen on recruiting the services of Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos before the end of the winter transfer window, according to Sunday Times journalist Duncan Castles.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner wants a replacement for the wantaway Jean-Philippe Mateta at the Selhurst Park club, while his Villa counterpart Unai Emery wants alternatives for Tammy Abraham and the Palace striker.
As a result, both the Villans and Eagles are eyeing the PSG hitman and he could be open to a move to the Premier League.
Ramos is behind Ousmane Dembele at the Parc des Princes club as Luis Enrique prefers the Frenchman leading his attack due to tactical reasons.
The 24-year-old, who once benched Cristiano Ronaldo at the 2022 World Cup in the round-of-16 game against Switzerland, has ten goals and one assist in 28 games this term after grabbing 19 goals and six assists last season.
He could be an upgrade on Mateta at Palace but PSG are unwilling to sell him right now and will prefer to wait until summer.
Mateta is on the radar of Juventus and other European bigwigs, which is why Villa have lined up Ramos if a move for the French striker falls through.
They also have Abraham on their radar, and while personal terms have been agreed to bring him back to Villa Park, striking a deal with Besiktas has proven tricky.
Both clubs may need to look elsewhere or be ready to put down an eye-watering fee to tempt PSG into parting with the Portuguese.
He has started just eight Ligue 1 games this term and his six appearances in the Champions League have all been from the bench.
Ramos could seek to leave for where he is guaranteed regular playing chances, with both Palace and Villa able to offer him that as they see him as a long-term addition to their respective attacks.
