Aston Villa welcome European football elite to Villa Park on Wednesday night as Bayern Munich arrive in the Midlands.

Aston Villa will again be without John McGinn for Wednesday’s clash as the captain recovers from a hamstring problem. The Scotland midfielder has missed the club’s last two matches and is again unavailable.

Matty Cash is another confirmed absentee, while the clash with Bayern comes too soon for either Tyrone Mings or Boubacar Kamara despite recent returns to full training. The duo are nearing returns from long-term issues.

Ollie Watkins will again lead the line and scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season against Ipswich at the weekend. Morgan Rogers will offer support to the England forward, with the 22-year-old pushing to join Watkins in the national team for October’s internationals. Rogers has been arguably Villa’s standout player so far this season and has been backed for a maiden call-up with the Three Lions.
