Aursnes ‘to miss’ at least three weeks with muscle injury, ruled out of Clássico | OneFootball

Fredrik Aursnes has been ruled out of the Clássico against Porto on Sunday, eight March, with a muscle injury, and faces a multi-week absence.

A Bola reports that the Benfica midfielder is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks, although the timeline could change as the full extent of the problem sustained on Monday, two March, is not yet known.

It is a significant blow for José Mourinho, with Aursnes a key figure in the squad.

After the Real Madrid game, Mourinho admitted the Norwegian was not in peak condition. He nevertheless started him against Gil Vicente, a choice that ended up aggravating the midfielder’s fitness a week before a major match.
