Sunday Night Soccer returned for an important Western Conference clash between postseason-bound pair Austin FC and LAFC, with Nico Estévez and company completing the regular season double against the Black and Gold with a 1-0 home win.

Without the services of star attacking duo Son Heung-min and Denis Bouanga, Steve Cherundolo's side struggled to create on the night amid their ambitions of pushing to finish top of the West on Decision Day.

Both sides were laborious across the opening 45 minutes of action, and tepid football remained an unfortunate hallmark as neither club crafted a single big chance before the 70-minute mark.

The deadlock would finally be broken in the 83rd minute when budding club starlet Owen Wolff headed home from inside the six-yard box at the back post ahead of a napping Timothy Tillman.

It would be enough for the home side to tuck themselves in tonight with all three points and a return to winning ways, ending LAFC's lengthy winning run and stripping their chances of finishing atop the conference pile.
