Auxerre travel to Metz on Sunday, 17:15, in a key survival fight, but will be without Oussama El-Azzouzi and Danny Namaso. They currently occupy the relegation play-off spot.

L'Équipe reports that El-Azzouzi, the Morocco midfielder, has a knee problem and Namaso, the Cameroon forward, is suspended. Both are regular starters.

Auxerre have failed to score in five matches and possess the worst attack in Ligue 1 with 14 goals. They have, however, steadied with back-to-back 0-0 draws, at Toulouse then against Paris FC, after four straight defeats.

Coach Christophe Pelissier has urged his side to avoid sinking into gloom and to play with more freedom in the final third, with the intent to attack the box and score.

He also praised the travelling support, even as some fans call for sporting director David Wantier to leave, saying the away end would be full again, which he considered extraordinary. Pelissier stressed they have to do it for those supporters against bottom club Metz.
