The Los Angeles Galaxy underwent a fairly significant roster overhaul last winter. The 2024 MLS Cup champions traded away for players from their team with salary cap constraints being a major factor.
Greg Vanney, head coach of the LA Galaxy, will have to tinker with his lineup on Saturday, again. However, injuries are the cause in this instance. At least six players are out for the Galaxy when they play the Seattle Sounders on Saturday.
The two teams have already faced each other twice in 2025. The first was a 4-0 clubbing at home where the LA Galaxy were shutout by their MLS Western Conference foe. The other was in the semifinals match of the 2025 Leagues Cup tournament, which also went in favor of the Sounders.
This season, its the Sounders, by far. Not only does Seattle have two wins against the LA Galaxy. Both are by shutout, too. The six-time MLS Cup winners have yet to score against the Western Conference foe in 2025.
Last season, that was almost the opposite. The LA Galaxy went unbeaten in the two MLS regular-season matches against the Seattle Sounders in 2024. A 1-0 win and a scoreless draw were the results in those games.
The LA Galaxy dropped a 3-1 match against the Sounders in August last year during the 2024 Leagues Cup. However, Seattle was ousted from the MLS Western Conference Playoffs, 1-0,

Fellow midfielders Marco Reus and Lucas Sanabria are out with their own physical ailments. Defensive players Julian Aude and Emiro Garces both have foot injuries. Forward Matheus Nascimento is out again, as well.
Mathias Jorgensen and Christian Ramirez are both listed as questionable. Ramirez has not taken the field for the LA Galaxy since late May, as he was their leading scorer to open up the season's first two months.
As usual, this MLS game is available on MLS Season Pass and can also be streamed on the Apple TV and Apple TV+ platforms. Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m. CT and 5:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 13, and the game will be played at Lumen Field.
Seattle will have their leading scorer, Daniel Musovski, back on the field for them. He sat out the 2025 Leagues Cup semifinal game against LA due to a suspension handed to him. Goalkeeper Andy Thomas has been phenomenal for the Sounders as Stefan Frei recovers from a concussion.
The Los Angeles Galaxy have yet to win on the road this season. All four of their victories have been at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. That's where the LA Galaxy's next game
