Barcelona forward Raphinha will be unavailable for the next three weeks after suffering an injury against Real Oviedo.
The Brazilian international was forced off in the 65th minute, with Robert Lewandowski coming on to replace him. The Polish striker later scored Barcelona’s second goal.
The former Leeds United player will not feature in the upcoming Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
He will also sit out important La Liga fixtures against Real Sociedad and Sevilla.
Raphinha was one of Barcelona’s standout performers last season, bagging 18 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
He was chosen as La Liga’s best player in the 2024/25 season. His achievements were further recognised when he was ranked fifth in the Ballon d’Or standings.
The injury is a blow for Raphinha and Barcelona. Manager Hansi Flick will now have to adjust his squad for a crucial run of games.
Barcelona need every option available as they fight for success in La Liga and the Champions League this season.
The medical team will continue to monitor Raphinha’s recovery process, with the club keen to have him back as quickly as possible.
