There has been some chatter about FC Barcelona needing at least one important sale this summer in order to be in a comfortable position to sign and register any new players.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been the top candidate for a sale, considering that Barça have roped in Joan Garcia to become the team’s new No. 1.
But other players have also been touted as potential candidates to be sold this summer, one of whom happens to be Fermin Lopez.
After all, the Blaugrana have plenty of options in the attacking midfield position, and the youngster is attracting interest from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia.
However, according to AS, Fermin will not be leaving Barcelona this summer, with the midfielder now seen as an ‘untouchable’ in the squad.

Despite previously appearing on lists of possible departures and attracting interest from the Premier League and even Saudi Arabia, the club has respected Flick’s decision and will not sell him this summer.
Fermin is one of the German coach’s favourites – not only for his performances in matches and training, but also for his positive presence in the dressing room, regardless of how much he plays.
Flick had wanted to give him more minutes last season, during which the midfielder had a strong finish. Most notably, he scored the goal that secured the league title against Espanyol.
Fermin has humbly accepted his role as a backup to Dani Olmo, and at times even Gavi, responding not with complaints but with attitude and performance. In just under 2,000 minutes last season, he contributed eight goals and ten assists.
Barcelona acknowledge a big departure is necessary to create salary space to register new signings and renewed players. But despite speculations, Fermin will be part of the 2025/26 squad.
