The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) released an official statement earlier today confirming that FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres was ruled out of their upcoming game against Bulgaria due to muscle overload.
The attacker, as such, was being released from the national team camp to return to Barça, where he can undergo recovery.
This update raised concerns over Ferran’s fitness ahead of an important run of fixtures for the Catalans, starting with the Catalan derby this weekend.
In what comes as a relief, though, journalist Santi Ovalle reports that Ferran is expected to be fit and available to face Girona on 18 October.
The 25-year-old complained of muscular discomfort after Spain’s game against Georgia on Saturday night, and tests have revealed some overload.
However, there is no injury sustained by the forward. But the Spain medical staff, along with that of Barça, and national team manager Luis de la Fuente, have decided not to take any risks with him, which is why he has been released.

But the expectation, as of now, is that Ferran will be ready and available for Saturday’s encounter against Girona.
This will come as a relief for Barcelona, considering the number of injuries they have been dealing with already.
Dani Olmo, who returned to the club from the Spain camp over the weekend, is set to miss the upcoming few games due to a calf injury.
Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, and Raphinha are all recovering from their respective fitness issues, while Gavi and Joan Garcia are also sidelined.
Ferran’s absence, thus, would have compounded the issues for Barça, but it appears that the problem is not major and he will be ready for the Catalan derby.
