The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League league phase is locked in, and PSG find themselves in one of the toughest groups. After struggling out of the gate last season, the French champions will be aiming to start fast this time.

PSG will go up against Bayern Munich and Barcelona in what should be two massive showdowns. Tottenham Hotspur are also part of the draw, setting up a quick rematch of their heated Super Cup meeting just a few weeks ago.

The challenge doesn’t stop there. Newcastle United and Athletic Bilbao add to the mix, while Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta, and Portuguese titleholders Sporting Lisbon stand in PSG’s way as the club looks to reach the knockout stage.

PSG and Barcelona clash on October 1. Moreover, the Spanish side are hopeful to have a key player in the starting 11 for the match against the Parisians.

Diario AS’ Javi Miguel reports that Gavi is ruled out for the September 14 contest against Valencia because of ongoing discomfort in his right knee, which he had surgery on just under two years ago.

Furthermore, the report states that Gavi is not expected to feature in Barcelona’s Champions League opener against Newcastle on September 18. As a result, the more realistic focus is now on having Gavi ready for the October 1 clash with PSG, per Miguel.

PSG will also be racing against time to ensure that one of their stars is ready for this high-profile matchup. During this international break, Telefoot’s Saber Desfarges reported that Ousmane Dembele is expected to leave the France national team camp after sustaining a right hamstring injury.
