Barcelona in line for income as Sergi Altimira nears Sporting Lisbon transfer | OneFootball

In addition to bringing in new players for the next season, when they will once again be aiming to win the UEFA Champions League, another task for FC Barcelona in this summer transfer window would be to earn money to continue improving their balances and to be able to register their new players.

This money would not come in only through the sales of their own players, but can also come through the sales of some of their former players on whom they still have some rights.

In this regard, one surprising avenue from which the Catalans are set to gain some profit is through the sale of the Real Betis player Sergi Altimira, who, according to A Bola, is going to join Sporting Lisbon for €18 million fixed and €4 million in variables.

According to SPORT, Barcelona are set to gain €400,000 from this operation, for the training rights they had on the player, as Altimira had trained at the Blaugrana academy for some years.

Meanwhile, the Catalans would be looking forward to the sale of another Real Betis player, i.e., the winger Ez Abde, who is enjoying a lot of demand from the Premier League, despite having missed out on the World Cup due to an injury. Barcelona have a 20% right on income from any future sale of the Moroccan forward.

For now, it remains to be seen whether Abde would change clubs this summer, but Altimira’s move seems to be more likely. Hopefully, both these operations would be completed this summer so Barcelona can get some much needed financial injection, and benefit from the development work they had done of these players
