With Robert Lewandowski set to leave, Barcelona should have enough economic space to return to the 1:1 rule this coming summer, which in turn could boost the club’s prospects in the market.
One of the team’s priorities is to bring in a new central defender. Alessandro Bastoni was identified as the ideal target, but it appears Barcelona’s talks with Inter have cooled.
In any case, defence is not the only sector Barcelona are looking to reinforce, as the team are also keen on shoring up their options in two more positions.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Catalans are also eyeing reinforcements in the goalscoring department by signing a top striker. They are looking for a winger as well.
This is hardly surprising as Deco has been keen on reducing the club’s reliance on Lamine Yamal. A new winger, therefore, could be the need of the hour.
As for the striker. Lewandowski’s departure will leave a gaping hole in the number nine role, and the club must sign a top striker to fill in his shoes.

Barcelona were keen on Julian Alvarez for the striker role earlier this summer. But due to economic complications, they have set their sights on Joao Pedro lately.
Deco has already held talks with Pedro’s agents in London this past week, with Barça exploring the possibility of a move this summer.
As for the flanks, the club would ideally like to sign a low-cost alternative, with Ez Abde being considered one of the options.
Romano adds that Barcelona’s transfer activity this summer will depend on exits, as the club look to generate enough room to bring in a new star.
