According to an update from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have decided against immediate surgery for Gavi and will instead pursue a conservative recovery plan.
It must be noted that Gavi has been experiencing pain in his right knee after a heavy blow, and although some had speculated about surgical intervention, the club’s medical team believes a less aggressive path is the right step for now.
The plan includes three weeks of conservative treatment and physical therapy.
If his condition improves during this period, he will gradually return to training and then to competitive action.
If, however, the discomfort persists beyond that time frame, the medical staff will reconsider and may explore surgical options such as arthroscopy.
For now, though, the priority is to let the body respond naturally without rushing into procedures that could have long-term consequences.
Reports in the media had suggested that Gavi could be headed for surgery sooner rather than later, but club sources have dismissed this as alarmist.

They insist that the medical team remains calm, with no urgent concern that would justify rushing into an operation.
Instead, they are taking a patient and measured approach, aiming to ease the discomfort through physical therapy and rest.
The midfielder is known for his competitive spirit and is already impatient to get back on the pitch to help his team.
Gavi’s desire to return quickly is understandable, but the club’s doctors are focused on protecting his long-term fitness.
The season is long, and Barcelona do not want to risk worsening the issue with unnecessary haste.
Ultimately, the club’s stance is one of caution – work steadily, allow time for the discomfort to subside, and avoid dramatic interventions unless absolutely necessary.
If everything goes as planned, Gavi should be pain-free within the three-week window, ready to return and once again become a key figure in Hansi Flick’s plans.
