The young talent at FC Barcelona never fails to amaze, and that remains true even today. Over the years, La Masia has produced some of the world’s most outstanding talents. Fortunately, they also continue to be assets for the first team.

One of the standout youngsters to emerge in recent times has been 17-year-old La Masia talent Antonio Fernandez. More commonly known as Toni Fernandez, the Barça youth product is a rather special talent that combines both immense quality and great versatility.

Recently, as pointed out by SPORT, his entourage even met with the club to discuss his potential roadmap and lay the foundations of his future at the club. The response from Barça was quite positive, and they conveyed full confidence in the youngster’s progression and development.

They made it clear to his entourage that while he would remain a key figure for Barça Atletic, he would continue to work from there to earn his spot in the first team. Fortunately for him, it seems to be a matter of when rather than if he ends up in the first team.

After all, Hansi Flick continues to keep a close eye on him, and the youngster is fully aware of it. Moreover, he just recently wrapped up his second preseason under Flick’s guidance, showcasing the level of faith and confidence that the German coach has in him.

During last season, he even made his first team debut during the Copa del Rey game against UD Barbastro. That was most likely Flick’s way of letting him know that he counts on him for the future, and it was possibly a taste of what is to come.
