Barcelona set firm price tag for key first team star amid Bayern interest | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are willing to listen to offers for Jules Kounde this summer, but the club have drawn a clear financial line over any possible departure.

The French defender is not considered completely untouchable, although Barca still view him as one of the best right-backs in the world and have no intention of selling him cheaply.

According to SPORT, Bayern Munich have recently made enquiries about Kounde, but the figures currently being discussed are nowhere near Barcelona’s expectations.

Journalist David Bernabeu explained that Barca would only seriously consider offers in the region of €50 million to €60 million.

Bayern interest falls short of Barca’s demands

The problem is that Bayern are reportedly only prepared to go as high as around €40 million.

Barcelona consider that figure too low and will not open the door at that price.

That stance makes sense. Kounde remains an important part of Hansi Flick’s defensive structure, and replacing him would not be simple.

His ability to defend wide spaces, compete physically, and contribute in possession gives Barca a level of security that is difficult to find on the market.

Bayern’s unwillingness to match the price tag could actually be a blessing in disguise for the Catalan club.

Kounde is coming off an excellent World Cup with the France national team and, if anything, it should be driving his price upwards.

Although the French defender may not have had the greatest season last year under Hansi Flick, there is no doubting his quality, and he showed that for Les Bleus at the tournament.

The last thing Barcelona want to do is sell Kounde and then struggle to replace him with a reliable right-back option.

Even the price range that the club have fixed for Kounde feels like a bargain for a player of his talent, and it remains to be seen whether Bayern submit a bid to sign the former Sevilla star this summer.
