A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is confident in his chances of wrestling back starter status in the club’s squad.
That’s according to Tot Costa of Catalunya Radio, who point towards Robert Lewandowski as the player in question.
Veteran frontman Lewandowski is for his part of course in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss opening to the new campaign.
Whilst the Pole has maintained a solid scoring record when on the pitch, he has been forced to play 2nd fiddle to Ferran Torres as Barcelona’s attacking spearhead.
Owing to the latter’s impressive form and more all-round contribution to the Blaugrana’s attacking efforts, Hansi Flick has opted for Ferran when it matters most.
As alluded to above, though, Lewandowski, it would appear, has not been discouraged by these developments.
As per a report from the aforementioned Catalunya Radio, the 37-year-old understands why, after an early-season injury setback, he is yet to secure first-choice status once more.
Not only that, but Lewandowski is nothing short of convinced that he will soon do enough to overtake teammate Ferran in the plans of Barca boss Flick once more.
